Welcome to my personal portfolio! My name is Waseem Benamor and I am a fourth-year Computer Science student with a minor in Math at the University of Virginia. My academic journey has equipped me with strong skills in both theoretical and applied computer science. In addition to my coursework, I have extensive experience in software development, quantitative research, and machine learning, gained through internships, fellowships, and personal projects.
My experience ranges from developing trading algorithms that ranked in the top 5% during my fellowship at Trexquant, to enhancing trade execution efficiency through Python programming at Standard Chartered Bank.
Outside of academics, I have a passion for leadership and giving back to the community. I founded the Computer Science Student Advisory Board at UVA, where I serve as Chairman, and also Founder and President of the European Culture Club.
I developed this website myself to showcase my portfolio, using my skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I am constantly seeking opportunities to apply my skills in new and challenging environments.
